Mrs. Wilderman's World History II Class - Springfield Township High School

World War II Museum Exhibits --- Due by the beginning of class 6/4
A local museum is at a loss for how to represent the many dimensions of World War II in the most informative and engaging light. Anyone can read a textbook or watch the History Channel, but the museum curators have realized that it is even more important to highlight these major events for a younger audience, especially since many who lived through the era have been dying in increasing numbers. The museum has asked us to help preserve their, and our, history.
We will create an online exhibit so all can access the history we’ve compiled. Your job is to represent your topic so that students all over the world can see why it is so important to never forget the events of World War II and the Holocaust. Your web exhibit – a Glogster poster - must include the following:

  1. A brief description of your topic: Who was involved? What happened? When did it happen? Where did it happen? Why did it happen? How did the world respond?
  2. A primary source (newspaper article, letter, journal, photograph, official document, etc.) related to the topic, including your own analysis of this document’s relevance.
  3. Your own version of a primary source document – journal, re-enacted video, animation, etc. – to bring relevance to the modern age.
  4. A provocative question, that you’ve written, about your topic with a well-supported (researched) response.
    • A type of question that aims to challenge conventional ideas or concepts, to question the values and logic behind the concept or issue. It paves the way for skepticism, doubts, and disbelief. Because of this, such type of questioning may cause a debate.

*All exhibits will be linked to the museum’s site. The class will review and examine each poster for accuracy and engagement during our museum “walk” on 6/4.
